Mr. Chamnarn Potchana, Director-General of Department of Labour Protection and Welfare, was nominated as manager of SHAWPAT. Co-founders had the first meeting on September 23, 1987 and opened for membership since July 1, 1987.
SHAWPAT held the first general meeting on october 22, 1987. 19 members were elected as board of committee. Pol.lieut. Charn Manudharm was elected as the president of SHAWAT.
OBJECTIVES
1. To promote the safety and health at work
2. To spread the knowledge and experience in safety and health at work
3. To associate with governmental and non-governmental agencies in conducting activities on safety and health at work
4. To promote co - ordination between governmental and non-governmental agencies on safety and health at work.

1. Organizes Occupational Safety and Health training courses with the cooperation of Department of Labour Protection and Welfare.
2. Organizes Occupational Safety and Health seminars with international
agencies:

2.2 South - East Asia Ergonomics Society (SEAES)
2.3 World Environment Centre (WEC)
3. Join the Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare in organizing the National Safety Week every year
